Notification to Members of the Public on the Resilient Agricultural Livelihoods Project (RALP) Environmental and Social Framework Plans

This is to bring to the attention of all stakeholders and members of the public that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has prepared an Environmental and Social Commitment Plan and a Stakeholder Engagement Plan for the Resilient Agricultural Livelihoods Project (RALP). This is in accordance with the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (2018) for all Bank-financed operations.

The RALP is a five-year project with the objective of strengthening the capacity of farmers and farmers groups and improve agricultural production. The overall objective of the environmental and social plans is to enable the World Bank and MAFS to better manage the environmental and social risks of the RALP and to improve development outcomes.

The plans can be obtained from the FAO website http://www.fao.org/environmental-social-standards/disclosure-portal/en/ or from the FAO office in South Sudan at UN-House Juba 3, Jebel Khujur, Yei Road, Juba.
