New FAOSTAT data release
Emissions from agri-food systems are those generated by farm production activities (crops and livestock), land use change and pre- and post-production processes. Emissions generated in agri-food systems beyond the farm gate have recently started to be quantified in an effort to facilitate mitigation measures and alert policy makers to emerging trends. In this context, FAO has developed its first database on agri-food systems beyond the farm gate.
The latest analytical brief presents results of the database and disseminates statistics on absolute emissions and their shares at the country, regional and global level, over the period 2000–2020.
