Director General FAO visiting the country office in Sudan

Khartoum - The Director-General (DG) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), José Graziano da Silva, visited the country office in Khartoum and held an open meeting with the office staff. He thanked FAO staff for their hard work and excellent contribution in making the 30th FAO Regional Conference for Africa (ARC) successful. The DG especially thanked the FAOR Mr Babagana Ahmadu for his management and hospitality during this huge event. The ARC30 was held at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum from 19 to 23 February 2018. Mr Graziano da Silva chaired the Ministerial Plenary Session on 22 and 23 February and held high level meetings with the Sudanese government and the ministers from participating countries.

The Director General concluded the visit to FAOSD by sharing his visions and the coming reforms for making FAO more effective organization. Mr Granziano da Silva encouraged the FAOSD staff to raise the issues they might need to discuss with him. This led to an informal dialogue between staff members and the DG.
