 TCI has long been involved in providing technical support to the World Bank’s irrigation projects in Afghanistan. Beginning with the Emergency Irrigation Rehabilitation Project (2003-2011), the predecessor to the current Irrigation Restoration and Development Project (2011-2017), TCI has supported FAO implementation of project operations through technical review and supervision of sub-project engineering design and construction, technical support and training for compliance with environmental and social safeguards, and various economic, social and other analyses for sub-project activities as requested.
