12/07/2011

World Bank and FAO meeting

On 18 May, following the workshop on “Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture in East Asia and the Pacific: Issues & Options”, a supplementary meeting was held between FAO technical staff and World Bank officers from the East Asia and Pacific Agriculture and Rural Development Sector.

The meeting aimed to: (i) review global and regional food price trends; (ii) discuss country-specific and regional programmes; and (iii) discuss areas of collaboration.

Presentations from FAO focused on an analysis of price movements and their impact in the context of the food price crisis and an introduction of FAO’s price monitoring tool. The World Bank presented selected initiatives on food security implemented in the region. Click here for agenda.
