The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is organizing the first ever Global Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (GAMC) from 27 to 29 September 2023. The Conference’s theme will focus on “Efficiency, Inclusiveness and Resilience” and discussions will highlight the contributions and benefits stemming from the sustainable development of agricultural mechanization. The GAMC will also allow to prioritize related actions and commitments, in line with the implementation the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-31 and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Conference willbring together a wide range of experts and stakeholders from around the world – FAO Members, farmers, extension specialists, opinion leaders, FAO Members, farmers, extension specialists, opinion leaders, policymakers, scientists, and representatives from academia, civil society, NGOs, and the private sector – for focused dialogues. The GAMC will be held as a hybrid event with in-person participation at FAO Headquarters in Rome, and will consist of plenary sessions with keynote speakers, a series of parallel sessions and a high-level ministerial segment.

During the Conference, an exhibition entitled ‘Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization: Technological paths to a better future’ will be set up at FAO Headquarters to showcase current and emerging technological developments in agricultural mechanization and digitalization.
