5th meeting of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Gender Statistics in the Arab Countries

The Gender Statistics meeting gathered experts from National Statistical Offices, Women Machineries, regional and international experts to review and discuss gender statistics development for evidence-based policy making.

The IAEG-SDG focused on two main topics: I methods for compiling and calculating SDG5 indicators, and (ii) the final version of the ESCWA Household Survey Questionnaire on Violence Against Women, which is currently being peer reviewed at the country level. Countries shared best practices for compiling and calculating SDG5 targets in their respective areas of expertise. The Arab Toolkit for SDG5 and the ESCWA Household Survey Questionnaire on Violence Against Women were the outcomes of the IAEG-GS.
