Accelerating FAO support on SDG monitoring Follow-up Meeting with FAO Representatives and Decentralized Offices in REU and RNE

The FAO Regional Offices for Near East and North Africa (FAORNE) and Europe and Central Asia (REU), jointly with the Office of Chief Statistician (OCS), organized a follow-up meeting on the resources to support decentralized offices in accelerating FAO monitoring of SDGs.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss with FAO representatives and staff in decentralized offices how to better support countries in the production, reporting and use of SDG indicators. In particular, the meeting aimed to:
• Collect feedback on the implementation of the toolkit "Accelerating FAO support SDG monitoring"
• Collect feedback on the implementation of the Guidelines on Mainstreaming Statistics and SDG indicators in CCAs/UNSDCFs
• Introduce the Presentation of the Roadmap for Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia
• Present a draft programme for a set of training sessions targeting FAO country offices and covering a series of specific topics of relevance to SDG monitoring
• Share information on the latest updates regarding the planning of statistical activities and data accelerators under the new Strategic Framework

The meeting took place virtually on Wednesday, November 3rd from 10:00-12:45 Rome/Budapest time and 11:00-13:45 Cairo time.
