National workshop on SDG indicators 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 in Dar Es Salaam (United Republic of Tanzania)

FAO is conducting a technical workshop to review, discuss and validate the Draft East African Community Regional Framework for Assessing Food and Nutrition Security from 04 to 10 June 2023 in Dar Es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania. The training aims to contribute to the improvement of national and regional capacities to monitor the evolution of food and nutrition security in a harmonized manner.

Expected Outcomes:   

• The draft Regional Framework for Assessing Food and Nutrition Security is technically validated by experts from Partner States and further refined based on inputs from the meeting.
• Once finalized and adopted, the framework will be a key document to guide EAC Partner States in generating reliable and timely data to inform policies and programs for food and nutrition security.
• Networking with food and nutrition security experts from the region would be beneficial for exchanging insights and best practices.

Participants:  

The meeting is being attended by 20 participants from the EAC Secretariat, FAO and the EAC Partner States (Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi).
