Virtual Event, 01/03/2023 - 30/03/2023

FAO is conducting a remote workshop on SDG indicators 2.1.1 Prevalence of Undernourishment and 2.1.2 Prevalence of moderate or severe food insecurity, based on the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES).

As the custodian agency for SDG indicators 2.1.1 and 2.1.2, FAO supports the efforts of the countries in monitoring target 2.1 “by 2030 end hunger and ensure access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations including infants, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round”. The workshop aims to provide technical support to national institutions monitoring food insecurity in UEMOA countries to apply the statistical methods behind indicators 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 and derive estimates based on the data collected through the Enquête Harmonisée sur le Conditions de Vie des Ménages 2020/21.

Expected Outcomes:

  • National institutions strengthen their capacities to analyse food security and nutrition data and produce meaningful and reliable indicators to inform monitoring frameworks, classification systems, and M&E assessments to guide policies and interventions, including for humanitarian response..
  • Partner institutions receive the needed material to start processing food consumption and Food Insecurity Experience Scale data collected through the Enquête Harmonisée sur le Conditions de Vie des Ménages 2020/21.

Participants:
