Oyster Producers' Cooperative of Cananéia

This study looks at community-based organizations based in Mandira Extractive Reserve in São Paulo’s Cananéia estuary lagoon, Brazil. The public sector provided support initially to this community-based enterprise with the focus of making it sustainable, provide for safe oysters and oyster quality. The enterprise grew over the years also to incorporate other oyster enterprises in the estuary.
