This paper provides a simple step-by-step approach to analyzing value chains and designing pro-poor value chain development projects based on the case study methodology. It is intended to assist practitioners in the design and management of value chain development projects as well as public officers at national, regional or local level dealing with agri-business and/or agro-industrial value chain development programmes.
