This document provides the success story of a collaboration between Colruyt (a Belgian retailer), VECO (a NGO), and farmers' organizations in Benin.  It recounts the development of the rice value chain in Benin, in terms of quality rice destined to domestic, neighbouring (Nigeria and Niger) and European markets (Belgium). This involved scaling up rice processing, improving production techniques for farmers through Farmer Field Schools, exploring new markets and improving access to these markets.
