The paper analyses backyard poultry production in the Techniman Municipality of the Brong Ahafo region in Ghana using a value chain framework. A holistic analysis of this subsector, including value chain actors, supporting institutions and linkages within the value chain, is provided in order to outline recommendations for the improvement of this subsector.
