ValueLinks Manual - The Methodology of Value Chain Promotion - First Edition

2007

The manual presents a methodology to conduct value chain promotion with the intent of enhancing employment and income. This manual can be applied to various value chains in different sectors. The modules are organized according to a project cycle, but in practice they can be used in an iterative manner and not necessarily according to the order of the modules found in the manual. Module 2 covers profitability in the chain, and in particular Section 2.3 considers economic analysis of value chains. In terms of value chain selection this is covered in Module 1. Module 3 looks at strategic upgrading for value chain development and in particular Section 3.1 looks at developing a vision for value chain development, while Module 11 covers monitoring and evaluation.
