This case study explores the reasons for the drastic decline in Nigeria's oil palm subsector from the 1970s until 2001 by investigating both the internal factors within the subsector (its structure, value chain, market, production, vulnerability, etc.) and the subsector's enabling environment (macroeconomic environment, institutions, and policies).
