The paper provides a comprehensive diagnostic of the red meat (beef, lamb, and goat meat) value chains in Tanzania. Various aspects of the chains (inputs and production, processing, end market, governance, sustainable production and energy use, finance, and business enabling environment) are analysed in order to identify where and how value is generated in the chains. Recommendations for value chain interventions are provided
