Like other developing countries, Colombia faces some tremendous opportunities for economic growth. This report outlines a pragmatic approach for analysing value chain performances as the basis for identifying binding constraints to growth and competitiveness. This approach is intended to facilitate formulating a targeted support programme, so CBI can use a combination of tools to support its ongoing private sector support work. This report examines specialty coffee in detail, but also looks at the other following sectors: exotic & tropical fruits, natural ingredients, tropical flowers, garments and information technology outsourcing.
