FAO and the African Union (AU) have signed a project agreement for supporting agribusiness development in Africa. The project will support the establishment of a continental agribusiness platform and capacity building for effective agribusiness development in Africa. It will be implemented with the AU’s Department of Rural Economy and Agriculture as the executing agency for a 23-month period. The project will provide technical support for the development of a regulatory framework for agribusiness partnerships, and capacity building for domestic private sector and agribusiness support organizations.
