This review demonstrates that collective action can be used as an institutional arrangement for improving market access for smallholder producers of agroforestry products based on the experience in Cameroon. Key lessons learned for the success of collective action include farmers’ own motivation, a favourable environment, and the inclusion of social activities in the implementation of group activities.
