Growing hope in Sunyani West district - Ghana

APERL (Agroforestry Practices to Enhance Resource-Poor Livelihoods) presents "Growing Hope in Sunyani West District - How agroforestry developed capacity in Ghana and Canada". The APERL project has enhanced the livelihoods of women, men, youth and children from six project communities in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana through agroforestry land-use, various income generation activities and agricultural value-addition technologies. The project has also created a Centre of Excellence in Agroforestry in West Africa at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) leading to employment for young graduates. Funding is provided by Foreign Affairs,Trade and Development Canada in partnership with the University of Guelph and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
