The presentation reports the result of a case study of participatory land and forest management project for reducing deforestation (PAREDD) in Lao PDR. It takes into consideration all the aspects from the preparatory phase to the implementation, including policy and socio economic issues. It takes into account also an effective participation of relevant stakeholders, in particular local communities during planning, implementation and monitoring stage. It concludes with problem encountered and lesson learned.
