Protecting trees from wildlife damage – technical guide

Author Philippe Van Lerberghe
Year of publication 2014
This technical guide reviews the current knowledge on damage to trees caused by wild animals (rabbits, hares, roe deer and red deer) and provides a detailed description of one of the main methods currently in use to protect individual trees directly from animal damage: mesh tree guards. By doing so, this guide aims to help foresters to identify the animal responsible for the damage and therefore to choose the best type of protection.
