This watershed management guidebook from the western United States is the result of more than 20 years of applied research and practice in watershed management. It follows a stepwise outcome-based management process and presents a set of principles, practices and tools for the management of disturbed watersheds. It intends to help achieve greater alignment between project intentions and the actual outcomes from investments in watershed restoration. The tools can be used individually or as a coherent package by land managers, restoration practitioners, field staff, and others involved in watershed assessment, treatment and monitoring.
