Exotic forest pest information system for North America

The Exotic Forest Pest Information System (ExFor) is a joint project of the member organizations of the Insect and Disease Study Group of the North American Forest Commission (NAFC). These organizations include the Canadian Forest Service, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, SEMARNAT (Sanidad Forestal, Mexico), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service, and the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Anyone is welcome to use the ExFor site, and to view the information contained within the database. The scope of the website is ExFor includes only forest pests, and specifically excludes agricultural pests. It includes only pests of trees, not pests that attack shrubs or other woodland plants. It includes pests of seeds, cones, seedlings, live trees and any harvested products of trees. It may include pests that threaten the forest resource, as well as those that threaten the timber industry. Because virtually every climatic zone is represented in at least a small area somewhere in North America, the scope of this project is not restricted by climate.
