The fourth issue of Faouturn focused on forest fires and sustainable forestry activities, which caused massive destruction around the world last summer. In this issue, you will be able to learn about sustainable forestry activities in Turkey and activities from projects against land destruction.

According to the FAO 2011 global study one third of the world's food goes to waste - the largest part thereof in the industrialized nations of the global north. Globally, chronic hunger is on the rise, increasing from an estimated 777 million in 2015 to 815 million people in 2016. The photo series in the "Grown for a Bin" describes the connection between individual wastage of food and globalized food production. Rotting food, arranged into elaborate still lifes, portrays an abstract picture of the wastage of food whilst the accompanying texts take a more in depth look at the roots of this issue.

The second issue of FAOTURN focuses on biodiversity. Our headline file contains information about biodiversity projects implemented in different parts of Turkey and the results of the studies. Another topic is food loss and waste, one of FAO's global challenges. There is an interesting example from the Save Your Food campaign implemented in Turkey. Services for women and children, like kindergarten and child services, in the work, carried out under the SRRP roof was one of the files in this issue. Details of the latest report on the partnership between FAO and Turkey is one of FAOTURN's topics as well.We have included the calendar of activities to be held in Turkey in the next two months in this issue.
