Faced with the growing challenge of urban agriculture and food policies, the number of community initiatives is increasing. As an association of elected representatives from major cities, metropolises and large inter-municipalities, France urbaine has been working on the theme of agriculture and food throughout 2017. Carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Vivapolis and the Caisse des Dépôts, this reflection led to the production of a publication entitled: "Cities, agriculture and food: French experiences".

Thirty local authorities, including all twenty-two metropolises, took part in this work to identify territorial food strategies and the most innovative projects in the field of urban and peri-urban agriculture.
