The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec recognizes the multiple benefits of urban agriculture to society and wishes to contribute to its development through the Urban Agriculture Support Strategy. More specifically, this strategy aims to promote the development of this form of agriculture in order to meet the expectations of citizens and businesses. The Urban Agriculture Development Strategy has been developed taking into account certain issues such as sustainable development, growth of the local economy, bringing together players in the bio-food sector and consumers, food security and the adoption of good agro-environmental practices.
