An Giang Province. Viet Nam. FAO ECTAD Viet Nam and Cambodia, IOM and GDPM, Viet Nam MOH organized a One Health cross-border meeting between Viet Nam and Cambodia in An Giang Province from 21-22 August 2024.

Viet Nam MOH, MARD, Cambodia MOH, MAFF and health and animal health authorities from eight provinces along the border discussed disease situations, reviewed the Border Health Quarantine Agreement, and highlighted the need for a multi-sectoral and transnational approach to pandemic preparedness.

The workshop identified priority activities to strengthen prevention, detection, and response to zoonotic diseases. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of enhanced collaboration at border points of entry to mitigate the effects of transnational public health threats. This meeting provided a valuable platform for Viet Nam and Cambodia to strengthen their cooperation in public health security.
