SSF Guidelines/VGGT Training Workshop in Tanzania

Environmental Management and Economic Development Organization (EMEDO), in collaboration with the World Forum of Fish Harvesters & Fish Workers (WFF) and local organizations representing traditional communities of small-scale fishers, forest workers, farmers and women’s groups in Tanzania organized a 3-day training workshop in Dodoma, Tanzania. The issues discussed by the participants regarding the governance of tenure of land, fishery and forest resources confirmed the complementary nature of the VGGT and the SSF Guidelines. The workshop was attended by the National Task Team for the implementation of the SSF Guidelines in Tanzania, including government representatives, academia and CSOs. The outcomes of the training informed the action plan under development regarding the implementatio of the SSF Guidelines.
