How to secure sustainable fisheries livelihoods discussed at FAO symposium

Last week, FAO's largest meeting room filled up with a diverse audience sharing a passion for sustainable fisheries. The International Symposium on Fisheries Sustainability attracted experts, policy makers, fishers and more. Small-scale fisheries, including the SSF Guidelines, were discussed throughout the symposium, and got special attention in a session on securing sustainable fisheries livelihoods. The SSF Guidelines were also relevant in the World Fisheries Day celebration on day four, stressing decent work.
