SSF Guidelines/VGGT Training Workshop in Sri Lanka

In June 2018, the National Fisheries Solidarity Organization (NAFSO) organized a training for around 40 representative of small-scale fisheries organizations from different regions of the country, in Negombo, Sri Lanka. During the workshop, FAO and NAFSO reaffirmed the importance of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure (VGGT) and the SSF Guidelines for advocating the land, fisheries and forest rights of the communities. The workshop focused on the need to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of these two tools for a better collective strategy to bring forward proposals to contribute to the definition of the National  Fisheries Policy.
