Side event on the importance of small-scale fisheries

The side event that took place during the first day of the Committee on Fisheries (COFI) presented the ongoing work to improve the knowledge of the small-scale fisheries sector's contributions. Presenters shared their SSF Guidelines implementation experiences as a lesson to better understand the regional and global contributions of small-scale fisheries to sustainable development and to make the case for greater political support, which will support paving the way towards the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture in 2022.
