GSOC17 - Opening and setting the scientific scene for GSOC17

The Global Symposium on Soil Organic Carbon will begin with opening remarks by Mr. José Graziano Da Silva (Director-General of FAO), H.E. Jioji Konousi Konrote (President of the Republic of Fiji), Mr. Kamernu Vella (EU Commissioner for Environment), Ms. Monique Barbut (Executive Secretary, UNCCD), Ms. Patricia Espinosa (Executive Secretary, UNFCCC), Mr. Abdalah Mokssit (IPCC Secretary) and Mr. Petteri Salas (Secretary General WMO).
This introduction will be followed by the 1st plenary where the GSOC17 themes and work modalities will be introduced.
