Opportunities and Challenges towards achieving SDG1 and SDG2: experiences from China, Kenya and Chile

The side-event aims to engage member countries in a discussion on the strategies and policies needed to achieve SDGs 1 (No poverty) and 2 (Zero hunger).
The session will focus on presenting and comparing successful cases of rural poverty reduction from Asia, Africa and Latin America, identifying lessons learned as well as explaining the role of FAO in supporting countries to achieve SDGs 1 and 2.
Presentations will be followed by a discussion on the role of public policies and South-South and Triangular Cooperation on how to implement the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
