World Food Safety Day

This side event will highlight FAO’s unique role in ensuring food safety along the food chain. Alongside the World Health Organization, FAO manages a Joint Food Standards Programme, which includes the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the international body that sets standards in all areas of food safety and quality.
Participants will hear how countries are working with FAO to enhance their food safety programmes and using Codex standards to protect consumers and facilitate trade.
