Launch of the State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022 (SOFIA 2022)

The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture (SOFIA) is a FAO flagship report that analyses the status and trends in fisheries and aquaculture at a global and regional level.
FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, will launch the report.
H.E. Peter Thomson, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean, will address the event. Manuel Barange, the director of FAO’s fisheries and aquaculture division, will provide a detailed presentation on SOFIA 2022’s major findings.
A panel of experts will discuss the report’s highlights and the challenges faced by the sector.
