EU animal welfare policies in the international context

The side event will provide an opportunity to inform, clarify and discuss a recently adopted legislative proposal on the protection of animals during transport in the context of the EU policies and the international trade dimension.

A panel discussion with leading experts in animal welfare will exchange on the needs and opportunities for further global cooperation on animal welfare.

The European Commission will welcome to hear and discuss the views of the FAO members, partner organizations such as FAO, WOAH, industry, and NGOs.
