The World Energy Outlook (WEO) series is the flagship publication of the International Energy Agency (IEA). It is a leading source of strategic insight on the future of energy and energy-related emissions, providing detailed scenarios that map out the consequences of different energy policy and investment choices. The WEO has been an annual publication since 1998, occasionally released together with special report on particular issues of interest, such as the Energy Access Outlook (2017) and the Africa Energy Outlook (2019).
