The reports in series provide an overview of the renewable energy markets, investments and policies around the world. It was published for the first time in 2005 and is produced annually by Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21). REN21 also publishes other series on renewable energy, including “Renewables in Cities Global Status Reports”, “Regional Renewable Energy Status Reports”, “Renewables Global Futures Reports”, and some “Thematic Reports” .
