The European Union Energy Initiative Partnership Dialogue Facility (EUEI PDF) cooperated with UNDP to support the secretariat of EAC (East African Community) to formulate a regional strategy to promote access to energy in rural and peri-urban areas. The strategy identifies the investment requirements and sources of funding (private, public) needed to achieve the EAC energy access targets laid down in the EAC document 'Scaling up Modern Energy Services in East Africa'.
