Bush Control and Biomass Utilization in Namibia

The objective of the project is to ensure economic utilization of biomass from controlled bush thinning of pastureland has improved through the following actions:

- Creates a framework for bush control and biomass utilization.

- Strengthens the capacity of the competent authorities to better approve and monitor the extraction of bush biomass.

- Advises farmers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on finance and sustainable bush-control and biomass-use measures

- Introduces innovative technologies for the extraction and processing of bush biomass.

The project supports an advisory service, which serves as a national information platform and focal point for questions relating to bush control and value addition opportunities for bush encroachment. It helps address information needs of famers interested in bush control and biomass utilization and connect operators of and investors in bush biomass operations.
