This collection aims to provide a reference for policy makers and practitioners working on energy, agriculture, forestry, environment, finance and business development to scale up bioenergy in rural areas and to enhance food security, social welfare and environmental sustainability in sub-Saharan Africa.

The proposed solutions outlined in this collection aim to contribute to sustainable bioenergy development surrounding three main issues in rural bioenergy in sub-Saharan Africa: 1) Unsustainable bioenergy feedstock which lead to deforestation; 2) Unhealthy domestic energy productions  systems; and 3) The lack of a means to ensure the sustainability of better bioenergy solutions.
