The policy actions relevant to wood energy include: 1) Reduce the pressure on forests and mangroves for wood fuels by improving the efficiency of production, harvesting, conversion and use of wood fuels, e.g., improved efficiency in cook stoves, community/family woodlot programmes, charcoal producer associations, community land use and natural resource planning; 2) Promote alternative sources of fuel for domestic use, especially in rural areas, e.g., LPG as an alternative to wood fuel.
