Joint Wood Energy Enquiry in UNECE Region

2006
Région
Europe and Central Asia

The Joint Wood Energy Enquiry (JWEE) was developed and launched in 2006 as a collaboration of the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the European Commission (EC). It aims at improving knowledge and understanding of wood energy consumption and tries to shed light on the potential and future perspective of wood energy in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) region.

The first dataset for the reference year 2005 (JWEE2005) was released in 2007. Thereafter, data collection was conducted every two years (data for 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017…). Relevant data and information on wood energy in the UNECE region from the JWEE (2005-2015) were included in the publication Wood Energy in the ECE Region (2018).
