The Clean Household Energy Solutions Toolkit (CHEST) is an analytical framework for assessment of the current state of household energy use, air pollution and health impacts. It provides the tools and resources to guide the energy planning process and to create or evaluate policies that expand clean household energy access and use.

The toolkit, developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), is intended to help health sector professionals and policy-makers implement the recommendations found in the Guidelines on indoor air quality: household fuel combustion. (WHO, 2014).  

CHEST includes resources for conducting stakeholder mapping; accomplishing a needs assessment and situation analysis; identifying technological and policy intervention options; setting standards; performing monitoring and evaluation; engaging the health community; and improving communications and raising awareness.
