As part of the side events of this year's #WorldFoodDay, the Lecture will focus on Public International Law perspectives related to the 2023 theme: Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind.

We are honoured to welcome, as the 2023 Lecturer, Her Excellency Ms María Teresa Infante Caffi, Judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Member of the Institut de Droit International, Professor of International Law at the University of Chile, former Permanent Representative of Chile to the OPCW and Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, President of the Latin American Society of International Law.

The annual FAO Law Lecture is an opportunity to hear a prominent Jurist exploring, from their own perspective and in the context of the WFD theme, the contribution of FAO to Public International Law, as well as aspects of International Law relevant to the Organization’s mandate and its status as an organization of the United Nations system.
