El camino hacia la Cumbre

Tres acontecimientos importantes prepararon el terreno para la Cumbre:

El Foro de Expertos de Alto Nivel sobre cómo alimentar al Mundo en 2050 examinó opciones de políticas cuya adopción los gobiernos deberían examinar a fin de asegurar que se pueda alimentar a la población mundial cuando esta se acerque a su pico de casi 9 200 millones a mediados de este siglo.

El Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria Mundial ponderó las reformas que le permitirán desempeñar una función mucho más eficaz en la gobernanza mundial de la seguridad alimentaria.

El lema del Día Mundial de la Alimentación de este año es Conseguir la seguridad alimentaria en época de crisis.
