UNFPA is pleased to announce our new crowd-sourcing challenge for new solutions for young people's sexual and reproductive health with OpenIDEO

How might we radically improve access to, and quality of, sexual and reproductive health education and services for young people?

Young people from age 10-24 constitute a quarter of the world’s population. Their reproductive choices and access to relevant support will shape not only their own futures, but future generations as well. We believe young people have the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health, as well as have access to relevant care.

UNFPA and OpenIDEO are thrilled to announce the launch of our Young People’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Challenge. This innovation Challenge seeks to support organizations working to radically improve access to, and quality of, sexual and reproductive health education and services for young people.

We couldn't be more excited to collaborate with you to design and innovate for the global good. Read our Challenge Brief  for more about the topic, and check out our Evaluation Criteria for details on requirements and submission guidelines. Then, join us in our Research Phase (September 7–October 1) and submit personal stories, interviews, and programmatic evidence that will help us generate impactful ideas in the next phase on the Challenge.

In partnership with OpenIDEO, the hope is that this Challenge will be reflective of our times – and your great capability. By providing access and education, and reducing the stigma around sexual and reproductive health, young people can live without fear, make smart decisions for themselves, and work toward their dreams.

The world’s problems might not be getting any easier, but we believe this community is more ready than ever to take them on.

See you in the Challenge!
