Antimicrobial Resistance

Call for the provision of information: Good practices and success stories on responsible antimicrobials use (AMU) and to reduce the need for AMU in agri-food systems

24/04/2024

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a global health and development challenge, threatening human and animal health and welfare, food security and nutrition, food safety, productivity, and the environment, as well as the livelihoods of farmers worldwide.

FAO has compiled a repository of relevant publications on responsible  antimicrobial use (AMU) and a wide range of practices (including traditional knowledge) to reduce the need for AMU in agri-food systems, which is being updated with new resources as they become known. For this reason, we would like to gather additional publications on Good practices and success stories on responsible antimicrobials use (AMU) andto reduce the need for AMU in agri-food systems.

More specifically on good husbandry and animal welfare practices, hygiene and waste management, biosecurity, advanced animal feeding practices, and use of adapted genetic resources that help reducing AMU, on a wide range of production systems, world regions and languages.

Do help us sharing high valuable information and success stories and submit your documents here. If retained, your contribution will be acknowledged in the online repository. Thank you.
